Libby started with Brown and Company in late July 2019. She’s the most recent addition to our team and we’re excited to have her as part of the team. When you visit our office, she’s likely the first person you’ll meet. We all appreciate her positivity and desire to serve and trust that you will as well!
Libby is an Administrative Marketing Assistant and is responsible for providing administrative support for the team, planning company and client events, assisting with social media posting and newsletters, and greeting clients.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Libby relocated to Texas when she was 5 years old and enjoyed a Southern upbringing. She finally had enough of the Texas heat, moved to Colorado in 2009, and now considers it home. She and her partner, Grant, enjoy travelling, going to the gym, live music, attending the theatre, and taking her Boxer, Zoey on walks to the to the park.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for Brown and Company?
A: Having only been with the company a few months, I’d say the best part is learning more about the Finance Industry, and how Brown and Company has really taken wealth management, and financial planning to another level. It’s very refreshing to come to work in an environment where everyone is a team, and truly cares about our clients, and their best interests. At the end of the day, knowing I get to be a part of something that genuinely helps people work towards their financial goals is incredibly rewarding!
Q: If you could switch your job with anyone else within Brown and Company, whose job would you want?
A: Probably Chad Hamilton, our Director of Practice Management. He oversees how we market the company and leads the direction we’re going to initiate growth in the future. The marketing aspect is attractive to me, and because of that, I’m glad to be working with him in that capacity.
Q: As a new hire yourself, what advice would you give to someone just joining the team?
A: Jump in, but always ask questions! A lot of what we do here is specialized to the industry and remaining compliant with regulatory guidelines is a must. So, you should never assume how to proceed if you’re unsure.
Now, we’ll switch gears to learn more what you like to do outside of the office.
Q:What is your favorite movie and book?
A: My favorite movie is “Stranger Than Fiction” starring Will Ferrell, Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Dustin Hoffman. It’s funny, but also really poignant. My favorite book is “Needful Things” by Stephen King. It’s a dark look at what people will do to get what they want in life.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” ~ Katherine Hepburn. This resonates with me, because I’ve never been one to follow arbitrary rules, and believe in questioning everything! Sometimes keeping the status quo just means you aren’t looking for ways to improve upon things!
Q: What is the first concert you attended?
- I went to The Monkees 20th Anniversary Reunion tour with my Mom when I was 12! I remember watching reruns of the show and grew up listening to a lot of great music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s thanks to my parents.
Q: Favorite travel spot?
A: By far my favorite place I’ve ever travelled is Prague. The beauty, culture and rich history has stuck with me, and I’d love to go back some time. I tend to choose travel destinations based on historical significance, and there were buildings still standing in Prague since the 1500’s.
