When Mark R. Brown founded his company, comprehensive financial planning and private family wealth management were in the beginning stages. The industry itself was still forming when Mark had an idea: for clients to pursue and actualize long-term financial independence, he had to deliver a new service and that service was to merge a traditional business plan with a personal financial plan. Because of the invention of the personal computer, it was now possible to create sophisticated plans for families in an understandable and flexible manner. MARK R. BROWN, CFP®
Mark R. Brown is the Managing Partner of this financial planning-based wealth management firm that offers independent investment management advice and financial services in a family office environment. Since 1983, Mr. Brown has provided strategic financial guidance to help manage the wealth of professionals, executives, business owners and their families, throughout the United States. Mark is a 35-year veteran of the field. Mark and his wife Rachel have three boys and are very active in the Denver community with several philanthropic organizations.
DANIELLE BERZ, CFP®

Danielle joined Brown and Company, Inc. in April 2013 as a Client Relationship Manager. She began her career in July 2008 at UBS Financial Services, Inc., participating as a Financial Advisor Associate in a two-year training program that focused on addressing the needs of high and ultra-high net worth individuals. Upon completion of the program, Danielle teamed with an established advisor within UBS Financial Services, Inc. where she headed up the financial plans, asset allocations, investment due diligence and the coordination of the clients, their CPAs, and attorneys.
Danielle grew up in Golden, Colorado and lived there until she moved to attend school at the University of Washington, where she rowed on the NCAA Women’s Crew Team. She lived in Seattle for 9 years before moving back to Colorado. She enjoys watching football, snowboarding, eating out and hiking.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE
Erin joined Brown and Company, Inc. in February 2017 as the Director of Operations and Compliance. She is responsible for the overall management of the office and overseeing the increasing complex compliance duties. Erin focuses on the day to day office operations and maintaining compliance guidelines and records.
She holds her Series 7 and 24 registrations with LPL Financial.
Erin and her husband, Cole, reside in Frederick. They love to travel, got to movies, or enjoy a good craft beer but most of all love spending time as a family. They have 2 grown daughters that are their world. Alexa is in her final stages of getting her teaching degree at the University of Northern Colorado and married her high school sweetheart, Justin, in fall of 2019. Their younger daughter Riley is attending Auburn University in Alabama pursuing a degree in the medical field. They enjoy going out to visit her and attending football games and cheering the Tigers on!
JUSTIN CASSIDA, MBA, CFP®,

Justin Cassida joined Brown and Company, Inc. in May 2007 as a Client Relationship Manager and in 2013 was promoted to Director of Client Service. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Financial Advisor in Dallas, TX. An accomplished professional, he obtained concurrent degrees in Business Administration and Financial Planning, with a minor in Architecture from Texas Tech University (magna cum laude). He then obtained an MBA and a M.S. in Personal Financial Planning, also from Texas Tech, notable because it is one of few programs in the country to offer a master’s degree in Financial Planning.
Justin and his wife, Sarah, reside in Denver with their three children, Grace, Evan and Benjamin. An avid skier, outdoorsman and father, Justin enjoys family first, the outdoors second and football third.
RYAN CSRNKO, CFP®
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGER
Ryan joined the team in June 2017 as a Client Relationship Manager. He began his career as a wealth manager with a firm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. While there he oversaw the financial planning process, investment analysis & recommendations, and overall client experience.
Ryan graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Finance, specializing in Financial Planning and a minor in Economics.
Growing up in a military family proved to be an intangible experience, living among various cultures abroad and throughout the United States. He now calls Colorado home and enjoys skiing, golfing, and traveling.
Mary joined the Brown & Company team in April 2019 as a Staff Accountant and is responsible for budgeting, cash flow analysis, forecasting, expense tracking, financial reporting and bookkeeping.
Originally from Wisconsin, Mary earned her B.S. in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After moving to Colorado immediately after graduation, she discovered her passion for accounting while working for a start-up brewery in Boulder. Mary is pursuing her M.S. in Accounting degree at Regis University and after graduation, she will test for her CPA.
Mary and her partner, Scotty, own an urban farm in Northwest Denver where they raise vegetables, fruit, chickens and ducks. They also enjoy biking, skiing / snowboarding, camping, seeing live music and cooking.
CHAD HAMILTON, CFP®
DIRECTOR OF PRACTICE MANAGEMENT
Chad joined Brown and Company, Inc. in 2019 to lead practice management and add new capabilities to the firm. He worked for Brown and Tedstrom early on in his career (from 2001 – 2009) and, after having done some consulting work for Brown and Company in 2018, reunited with the firm as a full-time employee.
Chad has more than 20 years of experience in the wealth advisory industry. He’s a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy. Previously, he was V.P. of practice management for one of the largest independent wealth management firms in the country, where he built customized tools, processes, and marketing resources for nearly 200 wealth advisors. He was also National Director of Wealth Planning for a large regional bank.
Chad is the author of two books – Deep Wealth and Redefining Financial Freedom – and has contributed to leading financial publications including CNBC, Investors’ Business Daily, Money Magazine, Financial Advisor IQ, and Financial Planning Magazine.
Chad and his wife Jennifer reside in Denver with their three children, Quincey, Harper, and Dylan. In his free time, Chad loves spending time in the mountains, serves in his church, and enjoys live music.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO MARK R. BROWN, CFP®
Vonda joined the team in September, 1997, as Executive Assistant to Mark R. Brown. Her expertise in managing the business calendar as well as trafficking and coordinating all calls with the appropriate team member has earned her many accolades from the firm and clients alike. Vonda excels at client relations and is central to the business development activities of Mark’s Team.
Vonda has an Associate’s Degree from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.
ADMINISTRATIVE MARKETING ASSISTANT
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Libby relocated to Texas when she was 5 years old and enjoyed a Southern upbringing. She finally had enough of the Texas heat, moved to Colorado in 2009, and now considers it home. She and her partner, Grant, enjoy travelling, going to the gym, live music, and taking her Boxer, Zoey on walks to the to the park.
